Canelo is an adult male Dachshund who was surrendered by his owner when he could no longer care for him. Canelo was very unhappy at finding himself in a shelter and made it clear he didn't want to be here. He was very afraid and attempted to bite anyone who was not patient with him. He has been adjusting slowly to shelter life but is turning into a sweet, loveable, animated little man. Outside, he'll jump up on your leg and asked to be petted. If you sit in the grass, he'll come over a bit tentatively and ask for attention. He cringes when we put him back into his cage but he's becoming more and more friendly with each passing day.
